ACCOMMODATION

Apple Tree Cot comfortably sleeps six people with one double and two twin bedrooms. There is plenty of living space with a dining room, cosy sitting room and sun lounge, and separate kitchen.  Apple Tree Cot is considerably larger inside than out!

Apple Tree Cot dates from the early 17th century and is considered to be the oldest cottage in the village.  Grade II listed, Apple Tree Cot was originally built as a farmhouse and retains many special features including an inglenook fireplace, stone flagged floors and an ancient apple tree that still shades it's tranquil garden.  Stories about the cottage abound! Previous residents include Mrs Stivey whose money is supposedly still hidden in the cottage and the family of the Earl of Mount Edgecombe's second groomsman.

Downstairs

Wood panelled entrance hall with the original stone floor.

Dining room with a granite inglenook fireplace and wood burner, dining table that comfortably seats 8 adults plus a cosy corner with a pair of armchairs.

Snug wood panelled sitting room with an open fire, with TV, DVD player and i-pod dock with bluetooth and a great selection of games and films to keep the whole family happy!

Fully glazed sun lounge with underfloor heating, overlooking the garden.  This is a favourite with visitors, especially on rainy days.

Well equipped kitchen, downstairs toilet.

Please note that the lintel to the front door is quite low.  We are a tall family (including a 6ft 3 son) and we manage very easily!

Upstairs

Double bedroom with a view over the garden, a kingsize bed and plenty of storage.

Twin bedroom no1 also overlooks the garden with its own handy washbasin.

Twin bedroom no2 with wood panelling and a 'sit in' window, black out curtains and a box of lego and other toys snuck under the beds - so perfect for the kids!

Bathroom with an over the bath power shower.

Garden

The garden is the perfect sun trap and a peaceful hideaway; though plenty of shade can be found under its historic apple tree.  There is an outdoors dining table that seats 6.  A 'secret' door leads from the garden to a smuggler's passage to Cawsand Square and the beach - ideal for coming back with sandy feet or completely soaked!
